I am getting fussy with reading books I have not read a really really good book lately! I want a book that I can get into and dont want to put down. I dont like scary/science fiction/romance anything to deep I like a bit of humour along the lines of Janet Evanovich ( she is a bounty hunter) Jodie Picoult Di Morrisey I would love some ideas preferably that I can borrow from the library Thanks girls
Have you read them? Were they ok? My dd will turn 8 next week and will be getting the first 3 for her birthday but I'll have to read them to her. I find it hard to read her chapter books that are not interesting and although I've seen the movies except the latest one I'm not all that into them you know? But my dd loves them. I think maybe 2 things here haha! 1: Are they ok and did you like them; 2: How can you focus on reading to a child when you find it a little hard to get into?
Does anyone know of another program like Ibooks where you can download books on your computer/Ipad. IBooks is great but I can't find a lot of the books Im looking for. I would be grateful of any suggestions as its hard to get to a good bookstore. :)
I am reading Jackie Collins Drop Dead Beautiful its a bit saucy but thats what her books are like:D
servo: A coffee table book, not to be thrust into a dark bookcase, for everyone a good look at the past, well set out state by state, excellent. diagnosis male: a light read with few pages which is good because very hard to put down, a need to keep reading to see what he thinks he has next. hilarious, well written and i can see a lot of women nodding in agreement when reading this book.
They have just arrived Leigh...thanks muchly. So my plan of action is to do 10-15 minute 1:1 Reminisce with each gentleman (well I'll excuse one as he is totally unsuited to this activity) with Servo and some A4 colour pictures I already have as visual prompts each day next week. And starting tomorrow, I'll set aside some reading time for myself with Diagnosis Male ( love the blurb on the back...). Now do we review on here or PM them to you Leigh.....and when would you like it by?
Just received our first bunch of books for review. I have 5 copies of each. So just let me know which ones you would like..you can take one of each if you like. But must have a review on each one you take. It doesn't need to be huge. They will be included in one post..so just a paragraph or 2 is all that is needed. With Father's Day coming up, most are guy related ones. So may not be for everyone. You can read them yourself, or maybe a MIYL (man in your life) can read it for you. The...
hi ladies i have a question for you all Has anyone read any good vampire books? romance especially i'm in the middle of making my list on what books i want to start reading.....(i used to read a book a week before i had kids & i haven't read much since having them & that's about to change as i'm home by myself now no kids aso i want to read again) any suggestions please thanks ladies
I often have books turn up in my PO Box for reviews, as well as lots of offers by emails, which I generally knockback. I just don't have the time to read books that aren't something I would normally read. But I wondered if I offered them to you girls, if you'd be interested in getting a book to review. What I would probably do is post the offer here, first in would get it. You get a copy of the book to keep and all you would need to do is write a review to use on the blog. So would you...
do you enjoy most? I will read most sorts. :) Love family sagas, especially if they span generations, Like reading about familys caught up in WW2,ie, Heman Woks Winds of War. Like autobiographys, though I was a little disappointed in Julie Walters as it didn't tell me much that I didn't know from interviews. About the only time of book I don't read are the Mills & Boon type of romance,to me one book is the same as the other :( How about you?
I might be slow off the mark with this, but if you like the Twilight series, her latest book about Bree Tanner (the vampire taken captive during the big battle in book, um, 3??) is available to read online for free for another two weeks, at http://www.breetanner.com but you can't download or print it, just read it online. Otherwise it's available from bookstores (I think KMart has it for $12? I'd go for the free online version. It's not a long story).
Hey Miss Kiki, and everyone else who has read or is reading the True Blood, "dead" series by Charlaine Harris. Has anyone heard about her other book series starting with Grave Sight. I only saw these books today and have bought the first one, its about a girl who gets struck by lightning and from then on she can see dead people.. sounds interesting. Just wondering if you like it? have read it etc.. TA
The past few weeks I've read a few books. The Millenium trilogy - LOVED the first one, Girl with a Dragon Tattoo. Enjoyed the other two but felt it was stretching the credibility a bit at times. I read Jonathan Livingston Seagull for a bookclub I'm in. Was not impressed at all. At least it was short. I think it has a history/reputation for being a "life changing book" but I just didn't get that out of it at all. I finally read Kite Runner and I'm half way through A Thousand Splendid...
I've started reading Twilight again..
Controversial I know but I was watching the new Foxtel channel 'Stvdio' on Monday and came across a program about this book. It has absolutely fascinated me not only because of it's content but mainly because it is still pretty much 'forbidden' and copies are extraordinarily expensive and very difficult to find. Do any of you ladies who were in the targeted age group to receive this book (12-15) in the 60's remember the hoo-haa surrounding the issuing of it? Judging by the documentary it...
Does anyone know any Novels based around Nazi Germany or World War 2? I am very interested in this era!
Has anyone read this book....the author suffers from multiple sclerosis and was given an uncommon prescription from an african medicine woman for her depression : give to others for 29 days : She journals in this book how this process changed her life. Thought provoking - you can see more on www.29gifts.org - also on u-tube or was that is. Definitly on my wish list.
Has anyone read this book? I have just seen the trailor for the movie called Precious, and it looked very good. The book is called Push, and I was hoping someone might have it sitting in their library, so that I could borrow and read it :D
My family want me to tell them of some books that they will buy me for Xmas? Are there some new releases out there that anyone knows of which will be good reading? I like books by Di Morrisey / Jodie Picolt /Danielle Steele those sort of books. I dont like vampire books or sex books just your basic books for 51 year old womenLMAO
I have just finished reading the Vodka Dialogue and Happiness Punch by Kirsty Brooks and absolutely loved them! Very fun and charming books! I had never heard of Kirsty Brooks before but have been doing a bit of research, wonderful!
