Lemon acts like a bleach, so will probably, most likely bring out the stain. Another thing that I do when I colour my hair (usually a dark-medium brown colour), I get to the stains staight after washing the colour out, if I missed any while the colour was in or in the shower. I get to them with a wet cotton wool ball and some ash from my ash tray - helps if you smoke. That or salt or sand will probably work, as they are abrasive. You would just have to be careful not to rub too much and take off a couple of layers of skin!! Th ciggy ash is not as abrasive as the salt or sand, so its a lot better for your skin.

Lots of wonderful ideas I will have to try BEFORE I dye next time
Thanks Ladies
There is still a bit of stain there, I think I will just have to wait for it to fade..or maybe it is permanent damage from something else I put on it LOLOL

Re: Stained skin from hair dye
Hey Leigh, what a great colour!
I have been a hairdreser for a few years, and we used hair dye to get rid of hair dye stains on skin, by rubbing the dye into the stained spots with your thumb and massage it gently until the spot vanishes. Best done when the spots are still wet though.
Best prevention is to spread some vaseline around your hair line next time
conditioner is also great but it is too runny, hence can get quite messy.
By the way, if hairdye ever gets onto your clothes, the best way to rid of it is to spray hair spray onto the offending spots while they are still wet, wait for the hair spray to dry up then throw them into the wash.
For red shades, try not to shampoo your hair within 48 hours of coloring, as that is when the color will most likely run and hence, fade.

Leigh an old trick we used to use in the dark hairdressing ages was to wet some cigarette ash on some cotton wool & rub the hairline with it. You have to do it straight away but it works really well.
It even took off black stain.
I found it gross to do as I hate cigareetes but it does work.

Noone will have an excuse for next time now, lots of great ideas

I had read that somewhere the other day Trace when I went searching, thought eww that sounds a bit gross. And we quit smoking so I don't think I could bring myself to doing that
I guess if you were desperate tho
