    Chicken Pox

YAY! Lucky us. Threw Emily in the shower this morning, and OMG what the hell are those spots Hayden is telling her she is going to turn into a chicken, making chicken noise, and she is screaming thinking that is true, and because she can't go to school He won't be laughing when his spots come LOLOL

$30 later at the chemist we are armed with spray, cream and medicine. What a fun filled few weeks we are in for

Oh I remember when my older 2 got them!! We were living with my best friend and her daughter at the time, so we thought that her daughter was going to get them!! No such luck!! She waited another couple of years to get them. They didnt effect the kids much.....just felt a little sick, but still able to run amuck. No bad scarring, either, which is good.

I remember when I got them, too....many, many years ago!! I felt soooo left out of things.

Believe it or not, Lenny has had the mumps, too!! Even though there is a vaccine for it. He got it just on one side, though, so it wasnt too bad. I had the mumps, too, when I was a kid...not much fun.

Hope your little chook (hehe - sorry, couldnt resist!!) is doin ok and it doesnt effect her too much!!

CP is going around here too...I am just waiting for my two youngest to get them.

At least I know I am safe from getting them...I had them a week before my 21st birthday...lol...not fun!

Jacob had them just before his 2nd birthday so it's just the toddlers that haven't had them in my house.

Oh, that must have been awful Serija, having them as an adult and right before your 21st

I didn't realise the spots were so bad. I don't remember actually seeing them before..I just thought they were spots.

She doesn't seem to have any new ones this morning, does that me that's it now? Now we have to look out for the other 2 to get them

That pinetarsol stuff has been the best, I bought the spray one tho and she crys abit when I'm turning her body orange :Hehe:

WHat about the scars? If they just sratched it once, would that leave a scar? She has been wearing cotton gloves which has helped a little, she has been good and not scratched any on her face, but has scracted a few on her body.

Oh No Serija, of all the times to get them!

My three have had them, but they strung it out, would have been great if they all got it at once, instead they got it one at a time, one after the other ..felt like we had the pox for a year LOL

    Re: Chicken Pox

I think Zac has chicken pox too. He started getting a few spots the other day, now they are filled with fluid and some have scabs on them. He has a sore throat (so have I) and he said he had a bit of a fever during the night.

The only trouble is, I have my friend's 1 yr old here with us at the moment, but he might be safe, cause I think they're not contagious once the spots have appeared.

Do I need to take him to the doctor, or just get some stuff to treat the spots and itching. We have some Band-Aid Healing Gel which says it helps soothe and heal chickenpox but I might go and get him some pinetarsol for the bath.

    I can't get them again, cause I had them as a 6 mth old baby...thank goodness...lol

Oh..poor boy Julie Sounds like it could be them. Tho with the girls, the spots came up, and became fluid filled fairly quickly.
I have been using a cream the chemist gave me, it is an antiseptic but also has anaesthetic in it. I have just been putting it on 3-4 times a day and Emily hardly scratched at all. It's called SOOV and is made by ego.
