Re: What are you reading now #3

Oh, that one sounds like it could be a bit freaky lucyloo

Just finished The House At Riverton - it was a powerful and emotional ending! The book itself felt a bit sluggish at times, but I enjoyed it more on my second attempt. Looking forward to trying Kate's new book The Distant Hours which is due out in November, but have a few others to read in between times

About to start House Rules now

Yes, it is a little, although I am not up to the gruesome parts yet, just more of their childhood.

What is House Rules about Jules, I have read all her books

Perhaps they will skim over the most gruesome of the details lucyloo, but it would still sort of hang there in your mind while you read I guess. An interesting story all the same I'd imagine, you can't help but wonder how the desire to perform such evil deeds came about.

House Rules is about a teenage boy who has Asperger's syndrome, so he's quite bright, obsessive about his favourite subject but also socially inept and clumsy in his manner. He is obsessed with forensics and keeps turning up at crime scenes telling the police what they should be doing (usually he's right too). One day though his tutor is murdered and the police come to question him. Basically the symptoms or idiosyncracies of Asperger's can also look a lot like the signs of guilt, so he suddenly finds himself accused of murder.

I'm looking forward to reading this book, my BIL and nephew have Aspergers, so it will be interesting for me from that perspective too

I'm reading a book called Gene by Stel Pavlou.
Gene is the story of forgotten Greek warrior Cyclades who fought and died in the Trojan Wars and was fated by the gods to be reincarnated seven times. Locked in a cycle of battle with the Babylonian Magi Athanatos,Cyclades must once again strive to defeat him and thwart his quest to achieve immortality.
Cyclades and Athanatos. North and Gene. But in this incarnation, neither man knows which is which,or why each of them has the instinctive need to kill the other.

I'm loving this one so far would like to read any others in the series but I got this second hand would have to hunt them down.

I have just finished "The Girl Who Played with Fire" - Stieg Larsson - going to buy the 3rd book tomorrow.

And have almost finished "The Other Family" by Joanna Trollope.
