A new earth by eckhart Tolle

    Has anyone read this book?
It has been featured on Oprah and a few other places and is supposed to be a great, insightful read........I tried to get it today at our library but it was on loan and they only had one copy typical!

Ugh i hate eckhart tolle, well i shouldnt say that i dont really hate him, but i definately dont get why Oprah was so wowed by him. I found his writing to be rambled and all over the place, and to be honest im not sure why anyone would follow or look to individuals who have had an epiphany in todays world. I guess maybe because i had already explored alot of buddhist and tao mindfullness with their lineage and very ancient roots...a great book that explored some of those concepts and is much better written is "thoughts without a thinker" you'll have to look up the author, i cant think of his name at the mo, the library will have him tho.

I've read alot of Buddhist teachings too.....I love the simple way.
I looked up the book - author is Mark Epstein. I will see if my library has a copy as it sounds interesting

I have read the Power of Now a few years back.

Re: A new earth by eckhart Tolle

Guys, Eckhart Tolle is wonderful! I often listen to audiobooks as I walk or get to work, and I listened to a new earth and the power of now and so on, and Tolle is awesome to listen to. He absolutely cracks me up. He has this European accent and as you listen you get to know him, and he has a wonderful sense of humour and is very easy to listen to. he starts of very very quiet and you think "oh no" but as he goes on you get into it. I have learned alot from Tolle and when he came to Melbourne I went and saw him - fell asleep in that but I was Very Very tired.

Another I listen to is Wayne Dwyer - he too is fabulous. Pretty sure he is a Christian but that's ok with me even though I am not religious. I respect everyone's decisions and Dwyers stuff is not about religion. Its really good.

as for buddist stuff - I just adore that! Its very refreshing.
