Apparently he has been doing lots of drugs, and letting people know his true identity (courtesy channel 10 news). Sounds like he is treating the whole thing as one big joke! You are sooo right June, as a grown 27 year old man he would know that child porn/sex and murder is completely wrong and very illegal. Maybe something bad did happen to Venables as a child, but does that mean he shouldn't be held accountable for the serious crimes he has committed? Being given a new identity does give them a new chance at life because no-one knows who they are or what they have done!I too respect your opinion eLL85, but I couldn't disagree with you more strongly.

well if it is him and this is how he in conducting himself, then as far as i am concerned he forfeits any mercy shown to him by the authorities giving him a go..

My minds eye is stuck on, what was it, 17 years ago, this 10 year old boy (venables) and wonder what precipitated such a heinous act.... what actually was going on in his life up to this point that he participated in such a hideous act. I think there is much under-lying circumstances cos I don't for one minute believe a kid is born evil, perverted, sic and so on.... so when i look at the picture of this child, my heart just bleeds. Did he get any counsilling, treatment or therapy whilst incarcerated..... Having said that i do not exonerate what he did... yes we must be accountable for our actions and pay the consequences. My heart also goes out to the victim and his family - OMG, the thought is too painful to conceive. I wonder, should he have been released... gosh, its a hard one. If he did commit the purported crime, then yes sadly he has to go back to being incarcerated, probably for life...he obviously has not been rehabilitated and maybe there was never any hope of rehabilitation in the first place. So ja, society needs to be protected....

How does the quality of his life matter when he has taken another? Sorry but society had it's chance to "fix this child" and it failed, he needs to be incarcerated for the rest of his natural life.

The Home Secetary has stated that Jon Venebles has not commited a murder or a srious assault. He would not reveal why he had been recalled to prison.He (Jon ) is not supposed to go to the Liverpool ares for the rest of his life,so if he has amd has been caught then his licence will have been revoked. It could be as simple as that.

If he has commited another crime does he still not deserve a fair trail? That is what our society is built on after all,every man has a right to be judged by his peers.

I personaly think he should not have been released but he has and unless and untill we know what he has done,I will reserve judgement.

These two boys are sociopaths and they will harm again I agree that they should have been in some kind of care or prison for their entire lives. As for the kiddy porn God knows what happened to them in juvinile detention maybe not as bad as an adult prison but very similar I would imagine... Thsi maybe the only kind of sex or kind of loving they know so yes they are definitely sick forever and should never have been released...
As for change of identity and living in Australia it is terrifying and why did we let them in?
