Dramatic Romance and Romantic Comedy's
I would like to know if I'm alone in this.
I have a beef with dramaticly romantic movies. These over-blown Hollywood piles of pish-posh seem to set an impossible ideal for what can be expected in reality. They seem to portray romance & love as something that's star spangled and miraculous - but I don't know anyone in that type of relationship. I don't even know anyone that have over come great odds to be with the ones they love.
AND! With Romantic-Comedy's I always feel like I've finished watching a marginally OK epidsode of>insert popular sit-com<... its all so uninspired!!
What's your take??

Re: Dramatic Romance and Romantic Comedy's

I agree. I find them entertaining if I'm in the mood for something brain dead and easy to watch and there are the occassional standout ones.
Love Actually is funny and romantic but I definatly wouldn't class it among all those other stupid romantic comedies, it was fantastic so entertaining, even my BF giggled his butt off watching it.
I kinda feel embarrassed to watch a lot of the super cheesy ones though, they just make me groan and want to hide my head under a pillow.

I just love the romantic comedy..Why? Because they take us out of the hum drum of family life. It doesn't matter if it's all over done BS to me..as long as I can go have a laugh/cry whatever, and just take my mind off stuff that irks me at home..

I feel the same as you Cherie....as long as I get a laugh /takes my mind off other things I am happy
It rarely happens in real life like the movies but I am still happy to watch them

Re: Dramatic Romance and Romantic Comedy's
I like a few different kinds of movies, depending on my mood. I'm not into blood and guts stuff though. Love Actually is funny.

I will not watch a romantic comedy (well maybe if I was on life support in a coma in hospital, I could possibly let one go on in the room
, maybe the sheer stoopidity of it would wake me up
).
So you could say I HATE EM.EARTH IS THE INSANE ASLYUM FOR THE UNIVERSE

You had better not see any of Nicolas Sparks movie's then Maliss - Dear John, The Notebook, Nights in Rodanthe, The Last Song etc.
Hollywood love them as they are "easy and cheap to make". It is a formula that works, even a classic like Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Women love them as they are an escape from there everyday lives, blowout of hearts and flowers (washed down with a tall glass of tears). All in moderation I say but I would rather watch this than watch a horror of someone being sliced and diced..."Assumptions are the tools of fools and the bedfellows of dreamers. If you want to know something just ask..."
