Hernia!!?

So I have this lump on my bikini line, and I figured, hey it's probably just a swollen lymph node or something; so I went into the doc's expecting that to be the diagnosis and thought he'd just whack me on antibiotics or something.... WELL imagine my shock when he said it was a hernia and that it needs to be SURGICALLY repaired D:

So, I'm freaking out about that a bit at the moment. Has anyone experienced a hernia in here?? I'd like to know what I'm in for...

P.S. would it be a bad idea to get waxed in that area?? It's a bit sore...

i think i would get a second opinion just to be on the safe side.....

Both my boys had hernias ( but they were very young), was quite a quick operation and obviously at their age bounced back lovely. Always good to get a 2nd opinion .

Yeah the GP made the diagnosis yesterday. He's sending me to get an ultrasound to confirm it, but I know the doc is right... it all adds up, makes sense. We went through a lot of symptoms and
he said it wouldn't be swollen lymph nodes because I have no infections or anything.

It should be a quick op,your dr will answer all your questions when you go for your ultrasound,might be a good idea to write them down,I always forget till I leave the surgery!

I personally would not go for a wax,if it's sore now it'l definitely be sore then!! (Leigh,can we have an ouchy smilie please : )

Don't think a second opinion is necessary if I'm getting an ultrasound....?
