    Re: cleaning blinds??

I'm watching this thread for ideas. Ours are disgusting but I don't want to spend money replacing them as we're wanting to do the whole kitchen at some point. I tried dusting and vacuuming them, spraying cleaner on and wiping off, but neither worked. Might put aside a day to do the hang-on-the-line thing when the weather is better.

I threw mine in the washing machine on a gentle cycle and then ironed them dry... took ages but they came out of the machine all wrinkled so had to hahaha

Any other ideas would be great though, brilliant thread Supa

Hello I soak my blinds in the bath (mine are cloth) if mould starts to take over I spray them with a weak bleach/water then add to the bath I add detergent leave them for a few hours rinse and hang to dry on line (don`t put in washing machine and spin)

Mine are metal/plastic or whatever; in the kitchen as well & they were disgusting when we moved in - but the problem is that we can't unscrew them from the wall; so I can't take them down... can only make excessive mess trying to clean the mess.
