    Knives

I want to get some new kitchen knives & am after a good brand. My big 'butchers' knife my parents gave me a long long time ago & has a wooden handle I love love lvoe that knife. Over the years I have bought a couple of knife block sets from various shops but they are crappy.

There is a scanpan set on special atm RRP is $399 & its down to $179 does anyone have this brand of knife? Was thinking the Tupperware ones as well.

I bought individually (read that as when on sale) Wusthof brand knives.....they really need sharpening now but I can't complain....it's been over 15 years.

I have different types of knives that I collected when cooking for the Army as long as they are sharp and I like the wooden handles

My Carver is Wilshire, but my everyday knives are Deborah Hutton *Living* from K Mart. They get used all the time and are still sharp after quite a bit of use.

Scanpan make knives??? Learn something new every day.

I just have a knife block that I got from Big W. No idea what brand they are but they weren't expensive. I think expensive knives would be a waste on someone with my culinary talents (or lack thereof).

    Re: Knives

If the Scanpan Knives are as good as the Scanpan pans I have then you've got yourself a winner!!

    Also, Trident/ Wusthof/Global... all good.

    Re: Knives

I covet scanpan. I've never tried the knives though.

My inclination would be to avoid the tupperware ones. They are expensive and if you're going to invest in knives, go for a knife manufacturer. Have a look at Peter's of Kensington online, they often have good prices on knife blocks (not sure what brands they stock though).
