Seems like that was a waste of 5 yrs!

crap! just over 5 yrs ago I almost lost my hubby to a bee sting, he had been stung previously & it never worried him but then this one almost took his life. The doc did some tests & he was diagnosed as highly allergic to bees & they started him on a 5yr desensatisation program started out getting needles weekly, then f/nitely & then monthly for the last 3 yrs.
He had his last needle about 6wks ago & last week had a blood test to check his allergy.................well it didnt work he is still highly allergic. The reading should have been 20 but his was over 300 He sees the Doc on Fri for more info

My brother had an extreme allergy to beestings (didnt have this de-sensatisation program though, maybe it was'nt available 30 years ago) he was hospitalised after a bee sting and after that he had to carry an Epi pen to give himself emergency injection of anti histamine if it ever happend again - fortunately never did.
The same thing as people with extreme allergies to peanuts have for emergencies.
