nothing lasts forever, i need a new washing machine and i have only had this one 24years, i am debating between another top loader or a front loader. Now i have had a few people try to talk me out of a front loader, but i would love to hear what you ladies think, good or bad but i need help in deciding please.

Re: new washing machine.
We updated a couple of years back now I think
from a top loader to an LG Frontloader
I love it....use the 30min quick cycle 90% of the time

Re: new washing machine.
Only have the front loaders here
Love using your top loader, like how I can just lift the lid & chuck stuff in if I've forgotten it

Re: new washing machine.
I have an LG front loader, 6.5kg capacity which suits us at the moment. At the time we bought it, it was the second largest capacity front loader on the market. But if we got another one in the future, I'd get the largest capacity available because there's always that one thing which is too big for it. At the moment it's a king size quilt which tends to stretch the belt on it. That's the only thing you need to watch with a front loader - don't overload it otherwise the belt stretches and it will make a horrid clunking noise until you get it fixed.

I rarely use anything other than the 30min cycle....unless something is incredibly soiled. So if you do get a front loader, make sure it has a Quick Wash setting. The standard cycle on ours with Time Saver activated is a good hour and a half.
Top loaders are nice but they chew a fair bit of water unless you get one of the newer models which combines front loader technology in a top loader model. Think there is one called the AquaSmart (or something like that) which does that....it's a Fisher & Paykel one from memory?
I don't know anyone who owns one though.

Re: new washing machine.
I have a Fisher & Paykel top loader that has a sensor as too how much water to use, so there is no low, medium or high but it still uses more water that a front loader.
A front loader also washes better and is more gentle on your cothes. If you decide to get one you must make sure that it has a rapid 30min cycle, if not you will find a load can go for two hours and that can be quite off putting.......

Re: new washing machine.
Must have a look and see if mine has a quick wash.....I usually have to wait 2 and 1/2 hours for a normal wash.
Other than that, and the fact you can't stop it and throw a forgotten item in....I like it.I am beautiful inside and out so I should love myself unconditionally.
