Prawns
Theoretically if I had a bag of frozen green prawns in the freezer, how long can I leave them there before they should be chucked out?
Or rather, if I bought a bag of frozen green prawns and I can't recall when exactly that was, what is the chance they are still any good? The packaging just says use within two days of thawing but no mention of how long they are good for if they remain frozen.
I can guarantee for certain that it wasn't any time in the last three months but beyond that, I'm not sure.

Seafood is a bit dodgy Stormy if in doubt throw it out.
You will be able to tell when you thaw them if they are ok

Re: Prawns
I've chucked them in the bin....thinking it was collection day tomorrow. But it's not until Thursday. There'll be a lovely smell coming out of that bin if the bag they're in isn't sealed. It'll be a nice surprise for the tradies when they go to chuck their off cuts and such in there.

Re: Prawns
i have a packet in the freezer and it says to use by 12 months from package date, it is written on the pack , and to thaw by running under cold running water and cook immediately. But if in doubt throw them out.

Re: Prawns
I'd chuck them as well Stormy can't take chances with seafood.

I've never had an itch until I found out hubby had one. I don't think he went as far as scratching it though.
