Re: Generic Products
I use to work in a food factory & we used to pack things for Sainsburys ( exspensive supermarket ) & the Co-op ( cheaper supermarket ) & the product was the samefor both, the only difference was the packaging
Sainsburys was nicer lol
Having said that, my tinned stuff is mostly Heinz & frozen is Birds Eye & I would never ever buy cheap bread

Re: Generic Products
I usually buy a generic brand on recommendation from others....or if I want to give it a go myself, I will buy the smallest amount possible so there's less wastage if it's horrible. What I find irritating is that the Select brand (Woolies own) is now just as expensive than the regular brands. Some of their products were a nice little saving before because the product itself was fine, just the packaging looked bland. Now it has a pretty label and in some cases it's more expensive than the known brands.

Yes.....noticed that too Kay.
Shredded cheese (we go thru' 2kgs a week sometimes),flours (altho' not the cornflour) and sugars I think...oh and soda water, white vinegar (for the washing) and scourers.
The Cruskit type crackers were the best but can't get them any more.I am beautiful inside and out so I should love myself unconditionally.

Maybe someone should point out to them that they are discouraging freedom of choice.

Re: Generic Products
Heathers post reminded me, I sometimes get generic grated cheese and always get generic soda water too and they are great.
