Re: Name abbreviations
Naomi, my brother has more nicknames that you can shake a stick at... he's not confused... it sounds like the people that are giving you grief are confused. You should say: "Not that's ok - I can see how you could confuse Sofie and Sofia." With that stunning dry wit of yours.

Re: Name abbreviations
It doesn't worry me so much as it annoys me. I guess Sophia/Sophie just seems as similar to me as Matthew/Matt or Samuel/Sam etc and no-one questions that.
(I have to admit, I did give the
look at the woman who told me I "had to choose" one name or the other for her).

Re: Name abbreviations
I'm with your thinking... it's not like she's named Sophie and you call her Helen.
C, my name is Victoria. You can call me Victoria, or Victoria. Your choice there

Re: Name abbreviations
I have a friend who calls her son Bob, his name is Cayden.. I think it is cute and it is nothing like his real name! No one else has a problem with it either and most people call him Cayden.. And gosh, I call Darcie, "Nooshie" which went from bubba to baba ghanouj to nooshie!
Some people are just so opinionated.. Next time you are out of earshot of Sophia and in that womens company, throw her off by referring to Sophia as Kylie or something completely different.. If she wants to be petty give her something more substantial to moan about!

Start rolling your eyes back at the others Naomi.....it's none of their business.
I am beautiful inside and out so I should love myself unconditionally.
