Name abbreviations

Oh god if that were true about them getting confused then it is a wonder I even know what planet I am on,
My name has had many abbreviations , Lei, Lani, Larnie, Larn, and my fav Sid, my dad called me that most of my life
till he died and I certainly didnt grow up thinking that that was my name , he told me he called me that cos when I was born
he was working with a guy called Sid and he thought he may as well call me that so he wouldnt have to remember who he was talking to haha

Sophie isn't that far removed from Sophia. I don't really understand what their issue is.

When I was at the Pet Expo on the weekend, we got coffees from the cart they had set up there. The guy asked me what name to put against the order and I said "Kaylene" because that's my name. He then says to me "I bet when you were little, your mum would call you Kath when you were naughty". If someone can explain that one to me, I'd really appreciate it because I still don't get what he was on about.

weird the only way you would get that if your name was kathleen and even that wouldnt make sense

Although I do know someone whose name is Kathleen but she is known as Kay.

As a kid my boy cousins used to call me Bunty.... now where the hang did tt come from ... or was it cos i was a little chubby maybe .... was Bunty Bess a little Miss Chubby .... grrr ... thank God that name went by the wayside as I grew up.....

I think some people are just naturally petty too much time on their hands make an issue out of something important won't don't they..nicknames have always been around.
