Duromine... anyone lost weight and kept it off?
Hi everyone

I'm new here, and basically joined to get some online social-action. I do have a question though...
I have just been prescribed 40mg Duromine by my doctor. I'm 24 years old and weight 90kg. I've never in my life been as much as this and although 'apparently' it's not noticable, I really feel like I'm dragging around a huge spare tyre. My darling boyfriend is one of those sweeties that love-you-the-way-you-are but I'm at breaking point...
So, I've just taken my first pill and I'm feeling great. Super-loads of energy and although I had breakfast, I'm not hungry for morning tea or lunch when I would normally by now.
I wondered though... anyone actually kept the weight they've lost on Duromine off?
I'm using it as a kick start to get back into going to the gym and recently (or for 6 months) I've just had no energy...
Thoughts???

Well I would not take anything like Duramine to be honest. I have heard it has side effects. I am sure your Dr. told you about them though.
We do have some threads on this subject here somewhere.

my feelings are it would have to be the very last option, from what i have seen and heard when the pills stop the weight comes back twofold.

My girlfriend took Duromine and lost loads of weight, and her house was always sparkling clean
, but as soon, as she stopped it, she eventually put it all back on again....

Yeah, putting it back on is my concern. I read a few threads on here before I got the prescription and before I became a member and most people are against it, or have put the weight back on. I was hoping that I would find one person at least who kept it off... if only to make myself feel better about taking it!!!

There is no easy fix for weight loss SS. Too me, you have to diet sensibly, and exercise.....the weight does come off, but maybe not as fast as you would like it too.....and it is harder work.

So true Luce. My MUm always said you can eat whatever you want, if you exercise accordingly. I never listened then, but as with all things Mums' say, you look back and realise you should have listened!

My understanding is that it's a rather heavy duty appetite suppresant that murrors speed.
Are you feeling very buzzed?

No, I feel awesome actually, I do have a lot of energy but not feeling speedy at all. It's only day one though so you never know.

Nope, never taken and never would.... healthy eating and exercise is your best option i think for long term results, ja.
