What genre of books
do you enjoy most?
I will read most sorts.
Love family sagas, especially if they span generations,
Like reading about familys caught up in WW2,ie, Heman Woks Winds of War.
Like autobiographys, though I was a little disappointed in Julie Walters as it didn't tell me much that I didn't know from interviews.
About the only time of book I don't read are the Mills & Boon type of romance,to me one book is the same as the other

Re: What genre of books
I actually enjoyed reading James Heriot's books...
All Creatures Great and Small.
Dog Stories.
I have always wanted to read *The real James Herriot- A memory of my father..
Other than these books, I only read books on the animals I own or am interested in. I cant be bothered with non-fiction..
Everything has beauty, not everyone sees it.

Re: What genre of books
if you enjoy James Herriot you would enjoy reading Gerald Durrells books. Durrell was a naturalist, zookeeper, conservationist, author, and television presenter. He founded what is now called the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust and the Jersey Zoo (now renamed Durrell Wildlife) on the Channel Island of Jersey in 1958, but is perhaps best remembered for writing a number of books based on his life as an animal collector and enthusiast. He was the brother of the novelist Lawrence Durrell.

Re: What genre of books
Mysteries the most.
Short stories with a twist.
chick lit.
Don't mind 'classic' type psych thriller if I'm in the right frame of mind (but tend not to read it much when S is away, for obvious reasons).
There are actually quite a few children's stories that I enjoy reading. The good ones. I absolutely can't stand the Disney stuff that is retold from the movie (though sometimes original fairy tales are ok). Anything Disney princess and falling in love at first sight makes me groan. Also hate reading Mr Men series, Thomas the Tank Engine series, and the Dora story books. I think they're badly written and not particularly uplifting.
