Target Toy Sale Terms and Conditions 2011
I posted this on another thread but thought it would be better to start new.
Yes there is 10% deposit on all laybys this year, "Bulky" and "Home Delivery" laybys are charged a $10.00 non refundable service fee, so if you order a swing set that is $199 you will be charged $209. Then you will need to pay a $20 deposit. Then if later on down the track you decide to cancel your layby or your layby is cancelled because you failed to pay fortnightly payments you will get all moneys back except the $10.00 service fee.
Please don't yell at the layby department if your layby is cancelled because you failed to make fortnightly payments, on that note all laybys must have 50% paid by 30th of October. If 50% is not paid by the due date your layby will be cancelled.
This isn't the staff members fault it is "law" by head office. They say jump and the store will jump a freaking mountain.
Apart from that "Xmas" laybys are all charged with a $2.50 non refundable service fee (same rules as above) And you can only layby items til Christmas if they are pictured in the catalog. No exceptions. We don't care if you REALLY REALLY want it, we are not allowed to do it.
There is no rainchecks on toys this year so if you want something you better come and get it at midnight. Yes you will line up for 2-3 hours but you will get the toy you want.
"Online" laybys can only be picked up after 21st November, We don't have the stock until then so don't pester us, you will be wasting your time and ours.
The store can not extend the date for your fortnightly payments so don't ask, it's really irritating. But if you want to pay everything on your Xmas layby except $1 we are quite happy to hold your stock til Christmas and not pester you for payments. (this by the way is the best option!).
Obviously i know this information because i am a senior staff member for target. I'm not going to say which store but if you have any questions ask away and i will answer honestly.
Happy Toy Saling!!

Re: Target Toy Sale Terms and Conditions 2011
I should mention that "home delivery" laybys MUST be paid in full by 1st of December if you want them for Christmas. (it says 7-14 working days because we are unsure of delivery slots available and cannot find that information out for ourselves, it is up to the company delivering your item).
You can pay off "home delivery" type laybys early, i am unsure what month though. If the layby department doesn't know then the manager of sporting can find out for you. Just ask politely
"Bulky" laybys arrive at the store you ordered the item at around about October/November, NO EARLIER ! But you are guaranteed the item at by Christmas, if there is a fault with the item and it becomes banned the store will offer you a replacement of the same value (or extra if you are lucky!).
