How often do you wear dresses?

Question inspired by book I read "The secret lives of dresses".

My own answer is easy - Never.

I literally do not own a dress or a skirt (oops, I tell a lie - except my wedding dress and bridesmaid dress I wore to my sisters wedding, neither of which I would ever wear again, even if they still fit me, which they dont )
Have even been to a few weddings in last few years and have worn after 5 pants with after 5 top - havent been super formal weddings so I haven't been out of place.

What about you all - do you wear dresses/skirts on some,many or all occasions?

I remember an old lady I knew, she was in her 90's and always wore dresses or skirts, even in middle of winter - Fred (her late husband) didnt approve of women in trousers.

I always loved skirts & dresses until about 4 years ago i have no idea why i stopped wearing them i just did which is a shame because i still love skirts & dresses
My SIL never wore long pants because her hubby liked dresses & skirts on women lol

Less than 5 times a year. I own a couple but they are definitely "dressy" dresses for extra special occasions. In fact, probably only twice in the past 18 months. I do wear skirts occasionally but usually jeans, or dress pants.

Same as you Kaylene I dont own a dress or skirt I am to S and D for a dress

I will only wear a dress for a wedding or something, but I wear skirts often during the warmer months. I never used to, I prefered pants or shorts. But the last couple of years I have been not coping with the heat very well and skirts are much cooler to wear and since then I really love skirts

I wore one in 1994 and in 1996, both for formal occasions associated with school.

I associate dresses and skirts with dressed up formal occasions. Funerals don't count, I will generally still wear pants to those. But weddings I feel obliged to pretend to be remotely feminine and wear a skirt or a dress despite the fact that I have a bit of a phobia about the wind blowing it up or tucking my skirt in my pantyhose after going to the loo.

Occasionally if we go to the theatre or similar "dressed up" occasion, I will put on a skirt as well. I own two dresses apart from my high school formal dress. One I bought two weeks ago for an upcoming wedding. The other is a little black dress which I have never worn. I still don't know why I bought it really.

I don't wear dresses as a casual item of clothing, likewise with skirts. I have one skirt suit for interviews. One slinky type black skirt for formal occasions and one black and white cotton skirt for less formal but still slightly dressed up occasions. That's it.

I do not own a dress and the last one I wore was the day my son was born. It was a dress I borrowed because I couldn't stand the heat and that was 20 years ago and the time I wore one before that was my wedding dress, 31 years ago

nah, it means "skinny and divine". You know, way too good for dresses, just makes the dresses look like old rags so there's no point wearing them.
