    Does anyone have an Amazon Kindle?

    Any good?

    I am thinking of getting the book sized version.

    I didn't know they existed until last Sunday. I like that it's just like a book...ie. you're not staring at a backlit screen apparently.

    That's correct, it's called e-ink. It is so nice to read. Just like a book and you can even read it in direct sunlight, there is no glare at all, the screen isn't shiny. When i first opened my kindle box there was a picture on the screen and i actually spent a while trying to work out how the paper label was stuck on, i couldn't work out how to peel it off! But it was just the screen saver lol, that is how much like paper it looks! I get eye strain really easy to reading ebooks has never been possible for me before I got my kindle. I can't read for long on my phone or my iPad because of the back lighting. I got the lighted cover with mine a I read a lot in bed after everyone else has gone to sleep. The cover itself is awesome, I often use it as a torch when I am checking on DD in the middle of the night

    Your welcome! How exciting! Let me know when you get it and we can Kindle chat. There are quite a few dedicated blogs that list all the freebies to download. I think I have only ever paid for 5 or 6 ebooks, most of my 300 odd ebooks have been freebies

    I don't have one as I don't do much reading but I know a couple of people that have them and swear by them and I am looking at getting them for my girls for Christmas as they are avid readers....

    Someone just told me you can now order/buy Kindles from Big W!! So for those tht don't like buying online from overseas there is now another option!
