At home with Julia
Did anyone watch this on the ABC last night? It's meant to be a political satire of Julia Gillard and her relationship/home life, and I suppose it could have been good but apart from a couple of funny one liners, it just felt kind of awkward.

Watched it in horror. What a personal annihilation of her partner!

Sounds as if I didn't miss anything.
I am beautiful inside and out so I should love myself unconditionally.

Re: At home with Julia
Completely a send up, Jen. I think political satire is often done quite well in Australia but this was just disappointing. I also wondered about making a show like that about the current PM? Seems a bit off. Also, would they do the same thing about a male? Probably not. Much 'funnier' to mock her partner because he's so emasculated, apparently
(And I'm not even a huge fan of hers, I just found it a bit pathetic).

Re: At home with Julia
Were they trying to make her look more 'real' for more votes maybe?

Re: At home with Julia
LOL yes Bob himself is way more entertaining than the actor who portrayed him.

Re: At home with Julia
It seems that the real Julia can laugh at herself, she said she recorded it and will watch it later.
I don't think we can pull it off as well as the American's, Tina Fay for instance is a brilliant Sarah Palin.
I watched it, thought it to be pretty harmless, can't really see what all the fuss is about, she is losing in the opinion polls, so who knows perhaps this will do her some good publicity?"Assumptions are the tools of fools and the bedfellows of dreamers. If you want to know something just ask..."

Re: At home with Julia
Maybe it will improve in the next episode. Don't get me wrong, I thought the songs Amanda Bishop did as Julia were really funny, so maybe my expectations were too high LOL.
