"Occupy" protests
Hey so what does everyone think of these protests that are happening around the world and around Australia?
Can someone explain what they are protesting about? Is it equal rights or something?
It is getting quite heated even in Australia

Re: "Ocupy" protests
Basically, I think, it's all about corporate greed, whilst we have to suffer stringent cuts.
Someone daubed 666 on St Paul's cathedral
Unclear at the moment whether it was an " occupier" or one of the rent a mob lot who join any protest just because

Re: "Ocupy" protests
i have mixed feelings, yes they are going on about corporate greed etc...but most of them have iphones and a lot seemed to be using ipads where do they think the money for those go to as well as the plans they would be on to run them.
also i dont think its right to set up where there is limited toilet facilities etc.....
i wonder how they get time of work or do they not work maybe studnets ?Sparkles

Re: "Ocupy" protests
Havent really followed the news closely lately so I dont know much about them.
But Melinda, maybe some are retired, part timers, or shift workers etc - I remember once Today Tonight or some silly program like that, did a segment on how many people were down at the beach on a weekday, shocking, the number of people chucking sickies, shock horror gnashing of teeth - and I thought how ridiculous, not everyone works Mon - Fri 9-5.
Sorry, bit off topic there - years of working shift work/ being married to a shift worker coming out there

Re: "Ocupy" protests
Very true....however, why must those at the top receive such obscene salaries with little or no accountability? Why it it allowed to make items in sweat shops for a pittance and then on sell at grossly inflated prices because they carry a "label"? How come our country's primary producers are failing? The list goes on.i do wonder though i guess of they are against corporate greed that would cut a lot of jobs out wouldnt it.....even if you work for the small man you end up doing business with corprates along the way..i mean we all have to bankI am beautiful inside and out so I should love myself unconditionally.
