    Re: "Ocupy" protests

I fully agree with Heather here. I know why they are doing it and support their reasons but not their actions.

Melinda I kind of get what you're saying too. It's like that Convoy of No Confidence. The only ones who could participate were those with enough money to have a truck and to afford the fuel to travel long distance in said truck. The whole "Oh look at me I'm so hard done by!" thing didn't work.

I agree with this, but only because I truly believe that we have to keep jobs inside Australia & it's the big corporates who offshore jobs.

But in saying this, no doubt it's the fact that Aust Corporate earn butt-tonnes of bucks why we suffered through the GFC so well... I could explain my thinking - but I can't be bothered.

Are you talking about Alan Joyce for instance or Gail King or Harvey Norman?

I read this in the SMH on 5 September 2011:
Of the 80 eligible chief executives of the top 100 companies to be surveyed, nine received more than $3 million in fixed pay, 29 more than $2 million, and 41 between $1 million and $2 million

The package for Westfield's Frank Lowy, consisting of cash or non-monetary benefits, remained the same at $15.96 million.

    Re: "Occupy" protests

They want this to become a socialist country but socialism doesn't work, what we need is the balance of power to err in favour of the little guy just that little bit more....but we cannot have it all the way or our nation will collapse. Anyway Americans are fighting for something different that want the Australians are, aussies are just being a bit of a copy cat in a way. I can understand SOME of their points but they really need to settle down a bit.
