Time to upgrade my mobile phone
It is time to get a new mobile phone and while I am fond of my iPhone 3gs, I am keen to enter the android market... Does anyone have a phone they love or have heard of a great phone that I might like? Thanks

Re: Time to upgrade my mobile phone
I've always wondered how one goes from apple to android ... don't you feel annoyed that you've already invested so much into the apps you already have and now you need to start again?

Re: Time to upgrade my mobile phone
Thanks Kek and Leilani, I'll check out those

Naomi, that was an issue to begin with but now I have an ipad plus Darcie has an iTouch and an ipad, the apps are still being used
if that wasn't the case then I would most likely stick with an iPhone. The fact that apple doesn't support flash player has been annoying at times when websites I've wanted to access require flash. So I'm giving in and trying something new and if it doesn't work out I can always go back.

Re: Time to upgrade my mobile phone
We ditched our iPhones 18mths ago, and would never go back.
I was worried about allll the apps I bought. But the kids still use a lot of them on their iPods and I got over it pretty quickly when so much that you need apps and hacking for on the iPhone is just part of the settings on android. I have an android tablet too, so still get vaule from my apps, tho I find I don't buy that many anymore.
As for phones. Depends what exactly you are after. All the good stuff, or just something basic? Are you looking to go on a plan with a certain carrier...as not all models are available from all place. Or buying outright?
I am waiting for my new phone to be released next year...can't wait! Here is a comparison pic of my current phone and the new one compared to an iPhone

Re: Time to upgrade my mobile phone
Naomi, I didn't see that, but that will weigh in on my decision, thanks.
Leigh, I am with Optus and most likely staying with them on a $99/month cap. I don't want it too basic, just similar to an iphone really.
I was considering a Samsung Galaxy S II but since seeing the Note, I am thinking about maybe holding off! I like the size of it!lala la la lala la la... it's Elmo's world.....

Re: Time to upgrade my mobile phone
Samsung Galaxy S 2 is brilliant, as Kekka suggested.
I'm waiting for a new one as well, in the mean time I might actually get one of the ones for the oldies...
Leigh, we're waiting for the same one! I can't wait!!

Re: Time to upgrade my mobile phone
Looking at what Optus have to offer, all the other androids are shit. So yeah...would go with the Galaxy S II. Or join us in having ginormous Notes

Binx..yay! I am tempted to buy outright now, just cause I don't want to wait. Manpet thinks I am completely nuts due to it's size. I can't wait to look like a a dick making calls with it
I'm not sure if they have announced which carriers will be getting the phone. As long as it isn't another voda exclusive...I can't wait to run far away from them!
Come on Naomi, you know you want one
