32 weeks, wow that's a late termination even for a baby with defects. Sophia was born at 33 weeks! Why not birth both babies alive and let the sick one pass away naturally if that's what they thought would happen? I fail to understand such a decision so late in the game, a lot of twins are born naturally around 32 to 35 weeks anyway. And terminating one twin would require its birth or removal anyway so even if the sick baby placed the healthy baby in danger why not just emergency deliver them both at the same time without the injection? Don't get me wrong I am terribly sad for the family but I just don't understand the decision made? Maybe there is more to the story I have missed?

I am really confused about this aswell...I feel there must be a reason, something not reported.

I feel terribly sorry for the parents..but also for the person that made this horrific mistake.

So terribly sad......read this while having a Respiratory Consult and I had to recheck that the report said 32 weeks!!!!
Can't imagine how all involved must be feeling.

It was on the news tonight as well and that is the decision that was made by the doctors involved. I hear what you say CB and it makes perfect sense as my GS was born at 31 weeks and is now the same weight and size of a full term 4mth old baby.. but the hospital has admitted that they have made a mistake and apologised, as if that is enough..... I think they know they are in for a law suit........!!

The hospital needs to be held acccountable I think, not that suing will bring the baby back. Just tragic for those parents. Personally I think it was murder in a way..or at least manslaughter?
