RIP Artie.
I remember going to the Football games when he played for Parramatta in the 60's.

I have no idea who he is but R.I.P. Artie.
TO KNOW SOMEONE HERE OR THERE WITH WHOM YOU FEEL THERE IS AN UNDERSTANDING IN SPITE OF DISTANCES OR THOUGHTS UNEXPRESSED----THAT CAN MAKE OF THIS EARTH A GARDEN.

Re: RIP Artie Beetson
He was a gangster of sorts though..him and another bloke threw another footie player down a flight of stairs and killed him, they were charged with manslaughter and the other bloke did a small gaol sentence over it. Beetson got off. There was talk of corrupt cops being paid by the NRL and god knows what. There was another scandal over misappropiation of funds in some club...it was all a long time ago in the 60's, but I can remember the talk amongst the adults at the time. Col and a mate of his were talking it about again this arvo because of his death, they were also only kids at the time and can't remember the whole story on both incidents..only that they happened.

Re: RIP Artie Beetson
I guess it was all a long time ago Mel, Hubby is an avid NRL follower but all he said about Beetson was goodnight to bad rubbish, karma finally kicked in for the footy player they killed in a drunken rage all those years ago. I only vaguely remember it.

This was all I could find on google about it...so long ago. And so hushed up at the time.
