Recovering from a hysterectomy
Hi Ladies,
Came across this site while i was surfing net today. I recentyly had a partial hysterectomy 3 weeks ago. still in a lot of pain and sick of being at home. Just wanted someone to chat to possibly someone who has also been through the procedure. I miss work so much but can't go back till after the 10th Jan and then it will be light duties till i get all my strength back. I still have a lot of pain and having trouble sleeping.
Someimes i get really depressed. Can anyone relate?

Re: Recovering from a hysterectomy
Hello Deb,
I have had a full Hysterectomy when I was 48. Yes I was a bit sore for a couple of weeks after, but I never let it get me down. I have to say I recovered very well and have never felt better in my life. Menopause was fairly easy, I had hot and cold flushes for a couple of years, but I never had a problem really. I hope you get through it ok. I believe if you re a positive person nothing will phase you.

Re: Recovering from a hysterectomy
I've had a total hysterectemy and a prolapse repair at the same time about 18 years ago recovered quite well was up and walking the next day bit uncomfortable but no real pain.
TO KNOW SOMEONE HERE OR THERE WITH WHOM YOU FEEL THERE IS AN UNDERSTANDING IN SPITE OF DISTANCES OR THOUGHTS UNEXPRESSED----THAT CAN MAKE OF THIS EARTH A GARDEN.

Re: Recovering from a hysterectomy
Hi Chase, I also had a hysterectomy when I was about 43 and I do remember being in a bit of pain and taking some time to recover but nothing that gave me too much grief. I guess we are all different. It will get better Chase and think how great the long term affects are going to be. If you are concerned then you should let your doctor know. Good luck and lets us know how things progress.

Re: Recovering from a hysterectomy
Hello Chase, hoping you are feeling a tad better today, do you have to stay at home....can't take yourself out for a walk, to a park, a beach, the shops?
My only experience was with a Caesar.....lot of pain for about a week (felt like wind pain) and it felt like I ripped some internal stitches three weeks later just hanging out the washing.
You take care of yourself.I am beautiful inside and out so I should love myself unconditionally.

Thanks everyone for your friendly reply's. I have been out and about recently, did a bit of xmas shopping, caught up
with my son and his girlfriend. very tired though. I have been in a lot of pain, hoping it will stop soon so i can enjoy xmas.
My house needs a good clean, but i can't do it. It's very warm here today too.
