OK I know they will be fine, have a good time, but is it normal to feel down when they are not here? They are with their dad. Everything is s quiet ...

I cant bare the thought of being away from my child for more than an hour! So I answer yes, it's normal to feel down when they aren't around.

I know what you mean I used to be like that my d.d. moved back home with her two kids when she split up from her partner a few years ago I'm well over it now, she's engaged to someone now and having her third child moved back out two years ago in some ways I miss her and the kids but it was a bloody relief when she went I see them about twice a week she lives not far from me that's enough for me now.
    Enjoy your peace and quiet.

Yes, very hard to deal with. I cry every time they go, although I know they want to spend time with their father. But he just seems to think it is fine to call whenever he like and say he will be picking the kids up and taking them for the rest of the weekend.

Stuff any plans Imight have made.

My d.d. found it hard when the kids first started going with dad for the weekend but she got used to it after a while but they have it all worked out when the kids go for the weekend it's discussed during pickup and drop off no nasty surprises less stressful.

Yes, I think it would be better if he could give you more notice and have set visits planned in advance! Then you could plan outings yourself, go out with friends etc. no one likes being left alone all if a sudden with no back up plans to keep you busy!

My d.d. has set days but with enough notice it's negotiable.
