    are operating today and tomorrow also even though the kids arent at school..

    In Victoria the school zones are the same all year round and on weekends. I notice Qld is just in school hours. Makes much more sense.

    That's freaking ridiculous. Surely the point of school zones is to protect the school kids during peak (pick up/drop off) times ...

    I drove through a speed camera school zone this afternoon about 15 minutes before they are operational and checked the clock and my speed and thought "oh it doesn't matter anyway". Presumably the lights will be flashing to warn motorists the zones are operational

    Actually in Victoria that was the case but has been changed to only be enforced during actual active school hours...
