Inappropriate presents
Just for a bit of fun - has anyone recieved (or given
) presents which were totally wrong?
One I remember is a few years ago when I went in Kris Kringle at work - and I recieved a book on astrology.
I have absolutely zero interest in astrology - but afterwards giver came up to me -I knew you would like it, I know you love reading.
As if loveing reading meant I would love a book on just any random topic
Ummm, Okaaay

Don't know if it's classed as inappropriate but I gave my ex some razor blades for his Birthday... no razor, just the blades
.......... & they were off the 50p stall!!

Re: Inapproprate presents.
Hope you gave it back to MIL lucy?
I can't remember ever getting anything that I did'nt like although surely there must have been something & as for me giving I really try hard to choose something that the person will be very happy with. If it is someone i feel close to I like to at times give something for keeps (something special that they will treasure) If I did'nt know the person very well as in SS or the likes I would not buy anything personal as in 'perfume, Make up, jewellery or that type of thing I think i would try to stick to something that was something I knew that most people would be happy to look at, I will have a think to see if there was anything I was given & did not like

Re: Inappropriate presents
At 19 my grandmother gave me a pair of used (stained) knickers from Vinnies (their throw-away pile) which I opened in front of my boyfriend of the time. I think it was about then that he chose to run far far away. Apart from that I've loved whatever people have chosen to buy for me.

Re: Inappropriate presents
My MIL one christmas gave me a twin pack of Palmolive gold soap wrapped up in Christmas paper she was a bit tight with money but that one took the cake..everyone who knows me knows I don't drink so I hate it when they give me a bottle of wine for a present hubby doesn't drink wine so I usually have to give it away.
