Merry Christmas to me from Telstra

My phone plan is a cap one, included 250MB data which normally is enough. I had increased it for a month or two because I was using a lot of data while out and about doing Christmas shopping for price comparisons between retailers and the like. Anyway, I found that over a month and a half, I didn't need all the data that the extra pack had given me (2G) so I rang them up to reduce the pack back down again to the $10 pack. The excess data charge is less than what the extra pack costs so I figured I would just pay that instead.

When I rang, I was assisted by a lovely American bloke who I think said his name was Jerry. Or at least that's what I called him and if that was wrong he was too polite to correct me. Jerry was very helpful and said that he could action my request straight away and yes, even though the billing cycle is only 6 days away, yes it would be done in time for that. He confirmed with me that my data pack would be reduced to the $10 pack and that I would get a text message once it had been finalised.

Anyway I just got a text message from Telstra letting me know that my data request has been finalised. I expected that it would go back down to the 250MB I started my plan at but since the cap plan now includes 1GB, that's what I have on that plan. Sahweet!

Telstra rang us yesterday to ask are we getting the best deal rah rah rah & klaus told them whatever it was & that we had just switched to it but they still gave $20 off a month from now on

Yes you may Binx, that's why I thought I would share it. Plenty of flack gets aimed in Telstra's general direction so when they get something right, it's nice to let everyone know. People are all too quick to let everyone know what bad things have happened, they forget to share the good IYKWIM.

Great to hear a good news story from Telstra I had to ring our electricity provider the other day about our solar got an Aussie girl and she was very polite and helpful there are some good ones.
