My Christmas Lunch
Did you do anything special for lunch this year?
We had for breakfast Honey Glazed Ham which DH did himself, and eggs on toast.
Then for lunch Two turkeys. DH makes the stuffing every year, plus the gravy..
I did all the vegs, and had a big selection..
Roast Potato, Sweet Potato, Pumpkin, Carrots, and Whole small Onions.
Cabbage, Peas, Swede, Parsnip, Baby Squash,Broccoli, amd Cauliflower.
I did end up with only a small amount left for bubble and squeak for breakfast yesterday.
Dessert was Cheesecake, with fresh Raspberries and Cream. Yum yum..
It was the best lunch we have had in years, and I had lots of lovely comments afterwards.

Re: My Christmas Lunch
That sounds fantastic.
I didn't cook this year (haha). My sister did roast turkey and roast pork, roast potatoes, pumpkin, carrots. Peas. Cauliflower and broccoli in white sauce. Apple sauce, gravy. All extremely good.
My brother did dessert, a tirimisu (excellent) and a pavlova (which I don't eat but was excellent by all other accounts).
So full after that for dinner we had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon (husband cooked
), which was also excellent.
For the IL meal on Boxing Day at MILs, roast chicken, chippolatas, roast veges, greens, bread sauce and gravy. A decent champagne provided by FIL. Dessert was Christmas pudding and choice/combination of home made custard, brandy sauce and/or cream.
Again, too full for dinner so we had toasted Christmas ham, cheese, tomato sandwiches.

Re: My Christmas Lunch
Sounds great Naomi and Cherie.
We had a breakfast at our place for Scott's parents and one of his sisters (bacon and eggs on the BBQ).
Lunch was at my parents where my dad went all out with seafood (prawns, oysters and lobster), lots of great salad, and plum pudding for desert while swimming in the pool (oh and lots of champagne - left over from our wedding).
Christmas night at Scott's folks for a full hot dinner, both turkey and ham, and lots and lots of sides and both pudding (more) and Scott made a beautiful pavlova.
Yesterday I hardly ate anything, except left over pav."Assumptions are the tools of fools and the bedfellows of dreamers. If you want to know something just ask..."

Re: My Christmas Lunch
We had pancakes and fresh fruit for breakfast with DD2 and her partner and then we cooked the roast lamb and made the gravy to take to my sister's where we also had ham, chicken, roast potatoes and pumpkin, baked onion, peas & corn. Desert was Black Forest cheesecake and mint & pistachio icecream that was to die for.......

Full as usual after all that and the nibbles so just had a toasted lamb & cheese sandwich for dinner......

Re: My Christmas Lunch
We had pancakes, eggs and bacon for breakfast.
Lunch was a full on hot dinner all the trimmings. Ham, pork, turkey, chicken and lamb with roasted veges followed by pavlova and apple pie.
Dinner was a toasted sandwich filled with leftovers.
We had a lovely day and for me it was more enjoyable than the past 3 years or so.

Re: My Christmas Lunch
Everyone's day sounds fabulous..The Tiramisu and Pav sound delicious, as of course lots of Champy. Trifle is one of my all time favourites for dessert, as well as any type of cheesecake.
Gee I am getting hungry again..
Looks like we all had a light tea after our big dinners.

It all sounds lovely Ladies.
I am beautiful inside and out so I should love myself unconditionally.
