Re: Weight loss and our Binxy
Let me into your secret too please.
I am beautiful inside and out so I should love myself unconditionally.
Weather it be or weather it not Heather complains 'cause it's far from hot
Her disdain for the rain is catching on quickly To Mad Old Cow she can be quite prickly
Grab jumper, a scarf or even a dog.
That'll warm you up, you jolly great snob!!

Re: Weight loss and our Binxy
Thanks people.
Firstly I am a LARGE person, so I have a lot of water weight etc to lose. The first 12kgs was all water weight and easily shift-able.
Secondly, it's really simple. I checked my basal metabolic rate, here. The basal metabolic rate is the absolute minimum of calories you need to ingest in order to keep breathing, walking, blood flowing etc. Then in order to lose 1 kg per week you have to reduce the calorie intake by 300 per day. This leaves me with quite a lot of calories... and only because I'm so big!
So, I downloaded the My Fitness Pal app onto my tablet; I religiously input my daily intake of food, and exercise.
Thirdly, I didn't want to be a "fat bride" so I have ultimate motivation over the next 2 years to lose weight.
Fourthly, I know that I can't starve and cut out whole food groups. I'm a cake-addict FFS! So I learnt from a friend who went from a size 26 to a size 12, that you have to allow yourself everything - but if it's a rich chocolate cake, or bacon, then you can only have a little bit. If I start to crave something I might bank some calories and then go be really particular about how I partake in it. For example, I was craving dark chocolate around the 20th, 21st, 22nd of December - so after work I walked to Haig's and purchased a small dark chocolate frog.
Subsequently slapping the pavement has turned out to be a knee killer, so I've had to stop exercising for a while. But I'm still losing, although over Christmas I put on 2.4 kgs, I have managed to take 1.4kgs off.
I don't ever want to be skinny, I think women with weight on them a more sexy, so I would plan to stop once I'm comfortably in a size 14/16. I mean, who doesn't want to look gorgeous in a corset?Last edited by Binx; 02-01-2012 at 11:53 AM.

Also, most importantly for me, food wise. I don't eat anything that's gone through a complex manufacturing process.
The only things I eat that have been manufactured (as in multiple factories, or the actual process to make it is complex) is Bread, Coffee, Milk, Yoghurt, and Vegemite.
Everything else simply is vegies, fruit, meat. I don't eat tomatoes but I found if you grate the flesh of red capsicums then you end up with a red sweet pulp which is great for ... well, dyeing any food...

I'm a size 16 now I'm aiming for a 14 cos I'm short doesn't look well on me..I was working out for a while and that showed but I've got a bit slack in the hot weather and now I've got all flabby again.

Re: Weight loss and our Binxy
Red, if I didn't have the wedding as motivation I highly doubt I would have been as successful. The engagement was the precipice needed to jump into weight loss, I had been thinking about it for the last 6 months, but the motivation wasn't there.
Due to the amount of weight I have to lose, I also see it as a long term goal. So I think that it's not become a real "lifestyle change" situation.
I can get away from the long hours in the office too.
I am tall, too... which is why a size 14/16 would look great on me! (Or so I feel)
I do think I'll need an apronectomy and my bingo wings will need to be re-turned to their no 'bingo' status & I don't look forward to surgery.

Good for you......writing down everything that goes into my mouth never worked for me....but I could try it again.
Thanks for the tip . I can't eat tomatoes because of the Arthritis so will try using capsicums.....which I really like anyway.Last edited by Heather; 02-01-2012 at 12:16 PM.
