Re: Ols TV's
Yep, they are everywhere here as well. Every now and then our council will have an old TV collection day. No one wants them anymore. And for some reason even charity shops won't sell them, they will take the insides out and sell the box, why anyone would want an empty TV I don't know! maybe Kek knows why Vinnies won't sell old TVs anymore?

Re: Ols TV's
I've seen some people put fish tanks inside them, so the fish tank is framed by the screen, sort of like was the trend in the 80s

Yes, I just went into town and noticed that up behine retravision would be about 10 quite big but old tv's just dumped there. I think it's kinda wasteful really, I was wondering if the local hospital could have used them.

Re: Ols TV's
J and I took 3 to the dump last weekend. Too lazy to recycle.
At our Recycle there are some Sudanese people who buy them cheap and send them back to their country in a container..In fact they pick up almost anything that is not nailed down.
Still it is helping their people back home, well as long as those receiving them are not paying throught the roof it is anyway.
Everything has beauty, not everyone sees it.

Re: Ols TV's
I'm guessing it's because analogue won't work anymore and those old televisions won't take a set top digital box. So they won't sell or recycle them to charity because they simply don't work.
You'd have thought they offered some kind of central drop off place in each council area or something though, they must have foreseen there would be a lot of useless televisions dumped randomly.
