    Re: Handsets for mobile phones

I don't have a landline but I have VoIP and people can ring in at the cost of a landline call for them. But because my VoIP calls are free I normally get them to hang up and I call them back anyway.

    Re: Handsets for mobile phones

We bought a $10.00 handset from the Reject shop for my daughter's mobile and it works perfectly. It was mean't for Iphones but worked with her phone. It also worked as a speaker for an ipod. The good thing about using handsets for mobiles is that you are not holding your mobile to your head for long periods. I know that the jury is still out on whether mobiles cause health problems.......but surely the heat that they give off can't be good. Dr Charles Teo, Neurosurgeon does not recommend holding mobiles to head.....so a handset for use at home or handsfree when out are preferable???

I have a landline, all my calls are included in the price of my plan, you see - I need a landline in order to have ADSL Broadband.

With those handsets though, I just like the idea that your at a cafe, or on the train - your phone rings, you dig around in your bag and pull out a ye olde fashioned telephone receiver. You'd get looks.

We weren't able to go without a land line here because ADSL speed is too slow to support VoIP. We hardly ever use it.

I don't spend that long on any phone to be concerned about getting a brain tumour. I probably text and email more these days which is reflective of my generation I guess.

    Re: Handsets for mobile phones

My husband bought a big yellow handset with a curly cord, for his Iphone. It looks like a big banana. The reception is fine and it does me you can lean the handset on your shoulder without hanging up on the person you are talking to. The handset is bigger than the phone so I think it looks quite funny, but he likes it.
