Re: 15 mins of fame....... anyone ??
We won the major prize package on Family Feud and I ended up with a set of encyclopedias
(I was 23), Wheel of Fortune $5000 worth of prizes over 4 nights, $1000 cash in Press Your Luck and DH only got as far as the three front podiums on Price is Right......
Hey Di I forgot about Deal Or No Deal and yes that was me and that was only last year.....
but did not win anything
Though I did have the case holding the $200K.... !!

When my stepson was alive he was with the volunteer fire and rescue at the racetracks he was one of the ones that ran out to put the fires out on racing cars he's been all over Australia I saw him at Sandown once on t.v. running out to help with a crash..he had to give it up when he became sick he was a rev head he loved it I still have some of his memorabilia with signatures from the drivers at the time..he could get us into the main area near the pits he used to get two free passes I'm sorry I never went.

Binx it was to do with more mature people being made redundant and the odds of finding another job at his age. Not group redundancies like what is about to happen with Toyota...
He was a purchasing manager and part of a global group (Company owned by USA) and they just started for no reason popping the group off all one by one and DH was the second in line. There was no warning at all and he went to work expecting to collect his new company car which was delivered while he was told he was being let go....
The Australian end of the business were fantastic and gave him the maximum payout he could get and were devastated he was going and tried everything to keep him but he shite happens !!
I had sent an email via the website when they had something similar on and they were asking for more stories and was told at the time that the story was not suitable and then rang us three weeks later and had Clare Brady (regular reporter) and two others here......
Sorry Lei I hijacked the thread......

S and I were on Today Tonight before we were married (so 13-14 years ago now) in a story called "Vow Row" because we'd chosen to use "obey" in our wedding vows. I never saw it (I've never seen TT ever), and I had a lot of people commenting to me about it but I didn't really care. The whole thing was stupid. What a stupid 'news' story. I was happy to tell them why we chose that order of the marriage service, don't care how they edited it or whatever, TT is an embarrassment to "investigative journalism".
