I loved Geoffrey in The Kings Speach..He is a great actor..I also loved him in the movie Bran Nue Dae..
An award well deserved I think.
Everything has beauty, not everyone sees it.

I like him not just an actor but he has helped out with charities he helps young Aussie actors and even today he is becoming proactive and asking that filmmakers do a mini series on the boat people and the Aborigines.The arts especially acting get left behind a bit in our sporting nation gee didnt a cricket captain win Australian of the year a while ago?

He is a great ambassador for the Australian people, he is well spoken, well educated, he doesn't enter too much into the whole politics of the nation, he is well understood and liked in other countries and he has done a huge amount in the 40+ years in the entertainment industry. Without people like him the Australian film industry would still be a backwater and he is a great advocate for all things Australian, that we are not just sports people or laid back don't give a shite Aussies. I think it was a good choice.
