    Homeschooling

So I have given thought to different options. I am now looking to do private babysitting, which then means I can homeschool dd.

    Pros:
    Better learning environment for her
    Individualised program
    Predictable structure
Social groups within the homeschooling environment

    Cons:
Reduced access to large peer groups
Any time with peers will be with parents as well
No real time apart (which may be a pro but likely a con)

For her education, it will definitely be better. She is an ASD kid which means she prefers not to socialise anyway, and it's anyone's guess whether it will be a benefit or a hinderence socially to homeschool. They have social events, excursions, camps, where all the homeschooled children are together, we have a lot of kids where we live, and she will do sports as well.

Private babysitting of 2 other kids will give the freedom to do this, and keep us out of poverty.

Anyway, just one of many thoughts after the new daycare mum pulled out.

If it suits you and fits in why not I say my d.d. had a few problems with school she never was in trouble well behaved and smart the environment didn't suit her I think in retrospect home schooling would have suited her better.

I would not ever want to homeschool for several reason but that is just me, I personally like that parents & kids get time away from each other when kids are at school, I loved my kids & loved spending time with them but I also loved my own free time where I could spend a day with friends doing my own thing & after just reading what I said, I may be selfish but i dont care

I would take 2 under school age and one older, maybe 10 or so.

I say do what feels "right" for you both. You sound like you have the social aspects sorted. Another Pro...no bullying! and I hear that you only need to have proper lessons for a couple of hours a day....when you think of it alot of time in school is spent tending and catering to 25 others...when you teach one on one it is way faster. It was not for me....my son in particular would have driven me nuts.... but have talked to people who have really enjoyed. Friends of mine who travelled for a couple of years joined some school??? that provided them with work, books etc and it was really cheap. They posted off all of their work and chatted to teachers by phone. Good luck with your decision.

LMF thats going to be a big day for you with 2 little ones and trying to home school 2 children who maybe dont do the same school work....
the 2 little ones alone would almost be fulltime looking after them , i know it would be for me....
not trying to turn you off...
but where would be the outlet for you to destress as you ahve your DD 24/7.

have you thought about a job where you have school hols off.....

i dont want to sounds demeaning but i know McDonalds has the more mature ladies who work mon-fri then have the school hols off as they can get the younger ones in then...there must be heaps of other business's who do this.
i believe woolies does the same.
what about working from home, some type of party plan that you only do parties on school days in the hours you choose.
cleaning also ? have you explored that.....
