Translating Gadgets
Im sure there is a gadget out there that you can speak in to and it will translate it to another language.
Spending two weeks in Italy in a village where not many speak English..Im in need of some way to communicate..
Does anyone know of such a device. I know there are apps that you can get on your phone but I won't always have internet available to me..

Re: Translating Gadgets
There are. I've never used one though. I find pointing and gesturing go a long way. I am one of THOSE tourists though.

Re: Translating Gadgets
I have a Welsh/English Dictionary..Maybe an Italian/English one would help..that way you can at least point to what you mean. I got mine from a Angus and Robertson.

I will check Dick Smiths out MOC, I hadn't thought of book stores...I have googled but not extensively.
Naomi...I know i will do a lot of pointing but my sister has a lot of friends there that want to have us for meals and take us places....They speak NO English and I speak NO Italian...lol...Just thought it would be nice to have some sort of conversation with them.

Re: Translating Gadgets
Oh that's hard. Is there no-one who speaks both who can translate for you? It's not the best, but would be easier than an electronic translator I think.
But anyway, something like this?
