Why not take a drive down the coast towards The Entrance on a weekend..There are so many lovely beaches to see. My husband and I used to go for a picnic lunch and just relax and get to know the area.

welcome to the forum, you are in the best place for doing things, so much to do and see just give it time, i live just north of newcastle, 40 minutes away but not in your age bracket.
