planting bulbs
The mention of digging on Anzac day reminded me of tradition to plant bulbs on Anzac day - of course the bulbs dont know the exact date, so any date near then will do but is handy way to remind oneself.
So in keeping with said tradition, this afternoon I planted 10 daffodil bulbs in little spots round my garden.
Will post again in few months when they (hopefully) shoot and flower
PS: very quiet digging so as not to dishonour the day

Re: planting bulbs
Hey I bet that is why my Nan's huge yard was always covered in daffodils, jonquils & snowflakes she was elderly & lived there from when my dad was little so she had many Anzac days to throw bulbs around I loved it, she let us pick them BUT not too many

Never heard of that tradition....but a lovely one none the less.
I am beautiful inside and out so I should love myself unconditionally.
Weather it be or weather it not Heather complains 'cause it's far from hot
Her disdain for the rain is catching on quickly To Mad Old Cow she can be quite prickly
Grab jumper, a scarf or even a dog.
That'll warm you up, you jolly great snob!!

Re: planting bulbs
The cooler weather in April usually triggers a bit of gardening frenzy here. We have a couple of bulbs planted in the front garden bed but didn't plant any more yesterday.

Re: planting bulbs
Heather, my dad always did this - he is a very keen gardener and he always told me Anzac day was the day to plant bulbs - but perhaps he just made it up to remind himself and then decided it was a tradition.
If he did, he fooled me anyway - I always thought it was an established gardening thing.
