Organising your computer?
Do you have your computer all organised like do you have your emails in folders? Do you have unnecessary icons on your desktop? In my documents do you have it all in folders?
I dont but maybe I should
Hubby would always go off because I wouldnt delete or file emails away on the business computer
My question is if you do all this and have it all neat and tidy will the computer run any better???

Re: Organising your puter?
The computer doesn't care whether you are organised or not. Its speed is limited by the hardware, not how organised/disorganised you are. But having some element of organisation can help you find things quicker. Unless you "bucket organise" and rely on filter search to find the documents that you're after.
I do archive my email into folders but even if you don't, the majority of email clients have the ability to search for terms - so as long as you know who the email is from and what it might have been called, it's easy enough to find it without necessarily having folders.
As to what my desktop looks like....the only icon is a recycle bin.

Re: Organising your computer?
All my docs/pics etc are in folders I also have folders inside folders. I do not have unnecessary icons on my desktop.
Was told many years ago it saved space. And it may or not be true, but it is easier to find things that's for sure.
I also take my picture folders off the pc occassionally and put them to a disc..easily recovered when needed.
My emails are all in folders. I have made extra for different things accounts etc.
I store some folders on my *D* drive therefore saving space on my *C* drive.
I am a control freak I've told you that..

Re: Organising your computer?
I have icons on my desktop not a lot,I have all my documents and some photos in folders, any e-mails I want to keep go into folders I don't do a lot on my lappie business or much else I have only a fraction of my memory used up,have an automatic defrag scheduled for once a month but if I think it needs one I do it,go through everything when I don't have much to do and delete anything that I don't need. I should learn to do more on my computer I'm still a work in progress.

Apparently the grandfather was killed on the 1st of May,so, whilst it probably was a racially motivated killing, it was not a retaliatory one.
Dreadful!!
