How you can help Victorian Bushfire victims

The whole of Australia has been deeply touched and saddened by the devastating bushfires that destroyed so many homes and lives through out Victoria over the weekend.

We all feel so helpless and just want to do SOMETHING to help. Here are a few ways you can help those affected by this terribly tragedy. Australians are great at banding together and helping a mate in times of need.

The Red Cross State Government Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund is the best way you can help those affected by these fires.

  • You can donate online
  • Donate by calling 1800 811 700
  • Any NAB, ANZ, Westpac or Commonwealth Bank branch
  • Any Bunnings store
  • By direct deposit to the Victorian Bushfire Relief Fund – BSB 082-001, Account number 860-046-797
  • Send a cheque or money order to: GPO Box 2957 Melbourne VIC 8060 (please indicate it is for the Bushfire Appeal)

The Red Cross is also calling for donations of blood. We so many people burnt and injuried over the weekend, they are running low on supplies.

Coles will donate this Friday’s (13 Feb) profits from its 750 stores nationally to the Government’s Bushfire Appeal Fund in partnership with the Red Cross. Save up your shopping and do a big one one Friday.

Along with the great human toll of bushfire comes the deviatsting effect it has on pets, livestock and our native wildlife.

Some organisations that could really do with help and donations to tackle the mammoth task of helping pets and animals affected by the Victorian bushfires.
